KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Kelsey Canavan of Lubbock Christian (Texas) has been named the final NAIA National Division I Women’s Basketball Player of the Week for 2011-12, the national office announced Tuesday. Canavan was selected based on her performances from Feb. 20 – 26 and was chosen out of a pool of conference/independent/unaffiliated groupings.

Canavan posted back-to-back career-high scoring performances to help lead the Lady Chaparrals to a share of the Sooner Athletic Conference regular-season championship.
