NAIA Division I Women?s Basketball Player of the Week ? No. 8

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Kourtney Pennywell of LSU Shreveport (La.) has been named the NAIA National Division I Women’s Basketball Player of the Week, the national office announced Tuesday. This honor, which encompasses performances from Feb. 16 – 22, is the eighth of the 2014-15 season. Pennywell was chosen out of a pool of conference player of the week selections.

• Averaged 28.3 points, 12.0 rebounds, 2.3 assists and 2.0 blocks per game in three wins for the Lady Pilots this past week.
• Scored a season-high 34 points on 15-of-23 shooting (65.2 percent), while also grabbing 10 rebounds, in LSU Shreveport’s 103-68 win against Bacone (Okla.) on Feb. 20.
• Played a key role in the Lady Pilots 76-66 upset of then-No. 10 Langston (Okla.) on Feb. 21, tallying game-highs in both points (27) and rebounds (11). She also had four blocks and four steals in the game.
• Opened the week with a 24-point, 15-rebound effort against LSU Alexandria (La.).
• Owns a NAIA-best 21 double-doubles on the season.
• Has scored in double-digits in every game this season (27).
• Ranks among the top three nationally in points per game (22.3) and rebounds per game (11.5).
• Collects the first NAIA Player of the Week award of her career.
