2024 NAIA Women's Basketball Championship Qualifier Packet

 

Congratulations on a successful season! As a qualifier for the 2024 NAIA Women’s Basketball Championship, please see below for some helpful information for the first & second round and final site. 

We are here to partner with you and your school in the publicity efforts. The NAIA will track all of the first and second round results on NAIA.org. Please note that if you have a Presto site, your schedule will show what we have posted on our website.

  • First and second round host site bids due February 1
  • Qualifying teams & first and second rounds opponents announced March 7, 7 p.m. CT
  • Submit team photo  March 7

    • Coach & player headshots will not be asked for until the semifinalists are decided.

 First and Second Rounds

  • PrestoStatsThe host institution is in charge of setting up the first and second round games in Presto. Hosts, please include the live stream and ticket links for your games in the Presto event that you set up.

    • If you do not pay for prime time, it is acceptable to include a different live stat link in your game setup

  • Postseason Roster – Make sure you or your head coach fills out the official postseason roster in SIDHelp. This is required by the NAIA.
    • As conference tournaments are a part of the official NAIA postseason, postseason rosters should be submitted prior to the first game of conference tournaments. 
    • Changes to the postseason roster MAY NOT be made once the CONFERENCE TOURNAMENT has begun but CAN be made BETWEEN the conference tournament and 1st and 2nd round and then again BETWEEN the 1st and 2nd rounds and the national championship play.
      • If changes are made, PLEASE inform NAIA Athletics Communications Manager Katie Green (kgreen@naia.org) and NAIA Championship Manager Abby Schultz (aschultz@naia.org) to ensure the correct roster is listed in the championship program and at each site for check-in.
    • Final site rosters are due at the final site coaches' registration, BUT rosters will be pulled for use in the official championship program on March 7. 
    • The individual completing the postseason roster will sign electronically.
    • Do not send postseason rosters via email or fax to the national office.
  • Edits to Statistics: If a team wants to make edits to game statistics after a game during the national tournament (this includes the first and second rounds), edits must be approved by NAIA Athletics Communications. Please contact Katie Green (kgreen@naia.org). 
  • Downloads 
  • Broadcast Rights – All broadcasts have a rights fee. For the first and second rounds only, all fees should be made payable to the host institution and given to the on-site media coordinator. For a complete listing of the NAIA’s broadcast rights fees, CLICK HERE.
  • Watch Live - First and second round hosts are responsible for producing and setting the price for their site. The links for these can be found on the NAIA First and Second Round schedule page CLICK HERE
  • Social Media – Please use the hashtags “#NAIAWBB” & "#BattleForTheRedBanner" for all Twitter/Facebook/Instagram content around the event and tag the NAIA 
  • Photography - The first and second round host is responsible for providing photography. After the event, the host should send five high-resolution photos to Katie Green at the NAIA (kgreen@naia.org)
  • Media Credentials -  Media credentials for first and second rounds should be acquired directly from the host media coordinator.

 Final Site

  • Final Site Official Title (First Reference) – Please refer to the national championship final site in Sioux City, Iowa, as the 2024 NAIA Women’s Basketball Championship presented by Bomgaars and Sterling.

  • Prestostats - The NAIA will set up all games on the Prestostats network schedule. If you have a Presto site, please do not set up your own games, as they will show up once they are created by the national office. 
  • Edits to Statistics: If a team wants to make edits to game statistics after a game during the national tournament (this includes the first and second rounds), edits must be approved by NAIA Athletics Communications. Please contact Katie Green (kgreen@naia.org). 
  • Broadcast Rights – At the final site event in Sioux City, no school is allowed to produce a live video stream. The NAIA owns the rights and is producing the official championship video broadcast on the NAIA Network or ESPN3 at the final site. Should you decide to do a radio broadcast, a rights fee should be paid to the national office. 
  • Watch Live: The live stream can be viewed on the NAIA Network for the Round of 16 through the semifinals. The championship game can be viewed on ESPN3.

      • in order to watch the game on ESPN3, users must have a login for ESPN or a TV provider that they would need to log in with before being able to view

  • Media Credential Applications -  Applications will close 72 hours before the event starts. It is acceptable to apply for and not need a credential if you are not sure if you will be attending the event or not that far in advance.
