KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Hannah Sabol of Concordia (Mich.) has been named the NAIA National Division II Women's Basketball Player of the Week, the national office announced Tuesday. Sabol was selected based on her performances from Jan. 21 - 27 and was chosen out of a pool of conference/independent/unaffiliated group winners.

Sabol led the 10th-ranked Cardinals to a 3-0 week, including the program's second title at the 62nd annual Concordia Invitational Tournament (CIT) Jan. 25-26. The Shelby Township native, who averaged 18.3 points, 11.3 rebounds and 1.7 steals, opened the week with 19 points and seven rebounds in Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference play against Aquinas on Jan. 23. Sabol then recorded her sixth double-double on the season with 20 points and 10 rebounds against NCAA Division III Concordia (Wis.). With the performance, the senior forward became only the second player in Concordia history to record 1,500 points and 1,000 rebounds in her career.

Sabol wrapped up the week with her second-straight and seventh double-double of the season in the Cardinals 73-69 win against then-No. 2 Concordia (Neb.) in the CIT championship game. She was also named the tournament most valuable player.

Nationally, Sabol ranks fourth in total rebounds (251) and fifth in total rebounds per game (10.5). She is second on the team in scoring with a 14.5 points per game average.
