KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Chelsea Davis of Michigan-Dearbon has been named the NAIA National Division II Women's Basketball Player of the Week, the national office announced Tuesday. Davis was selected based on her performances from Jan. 28 - Feb. 3 and was chosen out of a pool of conference/independent/unaffiliated group winners.

Davis, a 6-foot-1 center averaged 24.0 points, 13.3 rebounds, 4.3 assists, 2.3 blocks and 2.3 steals per game as she led the Wolves to a perfect 3-0 week. On Jan. 29 against Marygrove (Mich.), Davis collected her ninth double-double of the season, tallying 17 points and 11 boards. She also dished out five assists in the victory. Davis followed that performance with another double-double against Northwestern Ohio. She was 15-of-17 from the floor for 30 points and collected 12 rebounds en route to an 84-73 victory. Davis capped the week with her eleventh double-double of the season in a 59-52 win over Cornerstone (Mich.). In the contest, Davis, who was the only Michigan-Dearborn player in double figures, led all scorers with 25 points, and collected a season-high 17 rebounds.

Nationally, Davis ranks tenth in total rebounds (9.6), 11th in points per game (19.0), 20th in blocks per game (1.7) and 24th in total blocks (35). She also is tied for fourth with 11 double-doubles on the season.
