Indiana Wesleyan Moves on to the Quarterfinals

SIOUX CITY, Iowa - (Box Score) In a record setting game, Indiana Wesleyan and Grand View (Iowa) set the fewest points for both teams in national championship history (76), as the Wildcats clawed their way to a 49-27 win. Indiana Wesleyan, who has allowed the fewest points per game for the 2012-13 season, the Wildcats held the Grand View Vikings to 27 points in the last second round game of the State Farm-NAIA Division II Women's Basketball National Championship.

Both teams struggled to score in the first half. Indiana Wesleyan shot 26 percent in the first half and Grand View was held to 22 percent shooting. Neither team took a lead larger than two points in the first half and the game went into halftime tied at 15.

Grand View's offense continued to struggle in the second half as they went a five minute stretch where they did not score. During this second half, the Wildcats offense to score and Indiana Wesleyan started to pull away. The Wildcats pulled away as they made 15 free-throws in the second half to win, 49-27.

Taylor Goshert led the way for the Wildcats with 14 points. Leading the Vikings was Morgan Hamner with 13 points.

With the win, Indiana Wesleyan advances to the quarterfinals where it will face Briar Cliff (Iowa) on Saturday at 6 p.m. at the Tyson Events Center.
