No. 2 Davenport (Mich.) cruises past No. 7 Southeastern (Fla.)

SIOUX CITY, IOWA – (Box Score) Davenport (Mich.) advances on to the second round in its 12th appearance at the NAIA Women’s Basketball National Championship sponsored by Mercy and Seaboardtriumph Foods in Sioux City, Iowa. The Panthers made it into the championship after winning the Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference tournament championship.
Davenport moves to 28-5 overall and advances to play on Friday, March 11 at 8:30 a.m. against No. 3 Dakota Wesleyan (S.D.) in the Liston Bracket.
Davenport held Southeastern to 64 points, creating 12 turnovers on the game. Senior Alex Law and Junior Molly Babbs led their team with 16 points. As a team the Panthers shot 33-69 from the field and 14-19 from the charity stripe.
For the Fire, Junior Christin Stawbridge finished with a game high 25 points and seven rebounds. As a team Southeastern (Fla.) shot 28-63 from the field and was 5-8 from the charity stripe.
