Tough match-up leads Mount Marty?s way

SIOUX CITY, IOWA – (Box Score – Bracket) In the final game of the evening Mount Marty (S.D.) is the last team to make it into quarterfinal play beating College of the Ozarks (Mo.), 74 -67. This is the first appearance for the Lancers at the national championship since 2011 and the first quarterfinal in school history.
It was a three fest early as collectively both teams made 12 three’s on 29 attempts in the first half, with Mount Marty recorded eight and College of the Ozarks with four. The Lancers ended the first quarter with 28 points to College of the Ozarks 13, but the Lady Bobcats came roaring back to end the second quarter scoring 29 points for Mount Marty’s 9.
It wasn’t enough though as the College of the Ozarks were outscored 37-29 in the second half. The Lancers were 22-56 from the field with help from senior Alex Kneeland who recorded a game high 27 points and went 6-of-7 from the charity stripe.
College of the Ozarks had a god showing from four players, including 17 points from junior Hannah Wisdom and 15 from Brandy Uchtman in her last career college game.
The Lady Bobcats finish its season 28-5.
Mount Marty is back in action tomorrow, March 12 playing Olivet Nazarene (Ill.) in the final quarterfinal game at 8 p.m.
