KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Erin DeVries of Bethel (Ind.) has been named the NAIA National Women’s Golfer of the Week, the national office announced Wednesday. DeVries was selected based on her performance from April 7 - 13 and was chosen out of a pool of conference, independent and unaffiliated group winners.

DeVries, a senior from Grand Rapids, Mich., won the first playoff hole en route to first-place at the Pilot Spring Invite, hosted by Bethel College from April 11 - 12. DeVries birdied the first playoff hole in a dual with teammate Geandra Almeida after both golfers finished with a 2-over par 146 (72-74) to tie for first place. The first-round 72 was a career-best for DeVries and carried her to her first-ever No. 1 finish at Bethel.

She currently ranks in the top 50 in the NAIA in stroke average -- 46th, 79.93.
