2017 NAIA Women's Lacrosse National Players of the Week - No. 8 (April 18)

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Marci Schaeffer of Lawrence Tech (Mich.) was selected as this week’s NAIA Women’s Lacrosse Defensive Player of the Week and Kadijah Kalo, also from Lawrence Tech, is this week’s National Offensive Player of the Week. They were selected for their performances during the week of April 10 – 16 and were chosen out of the conference and Association of Independent Institutions award winners. 

Offensive Player of the Week
Kadijah Kalo, Lawrence Tech (Mich.)
Sr., M, East Lansing, Mich.                     

• Went 5-of-7 converting shots on goals in a 20-1 win over Madonna (Mich.).
• Finished the week with a 1.000 shots on goal percentage against then-No. 2 Davenport (Mich.) in a 17-13 victory.
• Leads her squad in nearly every statistical category including goals (55), assists (30) and points (85).
• Holds the No. 2 ranking in the NAIA in points per game (6.5) and No. 4 in both total assists (30) and assists per game (2.3).
• This is Kalo’s first National Player of the Week honor.

Defensive Player of the Week

• Helped limit Lawrence Tech opponents to just 14 goals on the week.
• Scored her ninth goal of the season in a 20-1 win over Madonna (Mich.).
• In a 17-13 win over then-No. 2 Davenport (Mich.), Schaeffer recorded three ground balls and caused three turnovers.
• This is Schaeffer’s first National Player of the Week honor.
