Players of the Week - No. 8

KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Jenna Steffensen of Judson (Ill.) has been named the NAIA National Women's Soccer Offensive Player of the Week and Rogers State's (Okla.) Chelsea McMullin has been selected as NAIA National Women's Soccer Defensive Player of the Week, the national office announced Tuesday. Steffensen and McMullin were selected based on their performances from Oct. 17 - 23 and were chosen out of a pool of conference/independent/unaffiliated groupings.

Steffensen was the key player in the 3-1 road win over No. 16 Trinity Christian (Ill.) on Oct. 19. Facing a 1-0 halftime deficit, the freshman forward scored the tying goal in the 71st minute, had game-winning assist to Kelly Creager in the 80th minute and netted a security goal in the 87th minute. Steffensen scored four goals and assisted on two others as Judson toppled Holy Cross (Ind.) 10-1 on Oct. 22. The 19th-ranked Eagles are on a 10 match winning streak and have gone unbeaten in their last 15 contests.

The London, Ontario, native, ranks 10th nationally in game-winning goals per game with 0.36 and 11th in total game winning goals with five.

McMullin, who hails from Plano, Texas, registered her fifth and sixth shutout wins of the season as the Hillcats defeated a pair of Sooner Athletic Conference foes. The sophomore keeper made seven saves to hand Science & Arts (Okla.) its first blanking in 14 matches played this season, 1-0, on Oct. 18. McMullin then denied Mid-America Christian (Okla.) six times to earn Rogers State its third-straight win, 4-0, on Oct. 21.

The next Players of the Week announcement will be on Nov. 1.
