2017 NAIA Women's Soccer Players of the Week ? No. 4 (Sept. 26)

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Ebba Gustafsson of Keiser (Fla.) has been named the NAIA National Women’s Soccer Offensive Player of the Week and Mikayla Johnson of Cornerstone (Mich.) has been named the NAIA National Women’s Soccer Defensive Player of the Week, the national office announced Tuesday. Gustafsson and Johnson were selected based on their performances from Sept. 18 – 24, and were chosen out of a pool of conference, independent and unaffiliated group winners.

Offensive Player of the Week
Ebba Gustafsson, Keiser (Fla.) Fr., MF, Varberg, Sweden

  • The highlight of the week occurred in the 13-0 win over Ave Maria (Fla.) on Sept. 20 when Gustafsson had her first hat trick of the year.
    • Weekly Stats:
      • 5 goals, 2 assists and 12 points
      • Has tallied a point in each of her last four matches
      • Leads the team on the season in goals (7) and total points (17)

Defensive Player of the Week
Mikayla Johnson, Cornerstone (Mich.) Fr., GK, Caledonia, Mich.

  • Johnson tallied two shutouts last week, including a blanking of No. 16 Taylor (Ind.) on Sept. 19.
    • Weekly Stats:
      • 15 total saves
      • Improved her record to 5-2-0 on the year in net
