KANSAS CITY, Mo. — The National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) announced the 2015 NAIA Women’s Tennis All-America teams Monday. Honorees were selected by the NAIA All-America committee, with 16 student-athletes being named to both the first and second teams.

National semifinalist Lindsey Wilson (Ky.) led all programs with three players earning All-America honors. Alicia Rodriguez (First Team), Henar Munoz (First Team) and Jessica King (Second Team) were the All-Americans for the Blue Raiders.

Seven additional teams – Arizona Christian, national champion Auburn Montgomery (Ala.), Brenau (Ga.), national runner-up Georgia Gwinnett, Oklahoma Baptist, Westmont (Calif.) and semifinalist Xavier (La.) – each had two players achieve All-America status. Nour Abbes, who was named the Marvin P. Richmond Outstanding Player for the second-consecutive season at the national championship, headlined the duo of Gold Nuggets who received All-America honors.

Auburn Montgomery, Lindsey Wilson and Xavier all landed multiple players on the first team.

Rolando Vargas of Auburn Montgomery was named the 2015 NAIA Women’s Tennis National Coach of the Year. His Warhawks defeated defending champion Georgia Gwinnett, 5-4, on Sunday, May 17, to win their 14th national championship. No other NAIA program has more than five national championships.
