KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Concordia (Calif.) remains a unanimous No. 1 choice for the second week in-a-row in the final regular-season edition of the Tachikara-NAIA Volleyball Coaches' Top 25 Poll, the national office announced Tuesday. The Eagles, who will enter postseason play with 29-straight wins, collected all 21 first-place votes and 591 points. Concordia concluded a 30-1 regular season in which it won its first Golden State Athletic Conference (GSAC) regular-season crown in program history.

The final poll for the 2011 season will be released Sunday by 1 p.m. CST, following the completion of the conference/independent/unaffiliated tournaments. The 24-team field for the 2011 NAIA Volleyball National Championship Opening Round will be announced Sunday by 6 p.m. CST.

No. 2 Texas at Brownsville of the Red River Athletic Conference and No. 3 Columbia (Mo.) of the American Midwest Conference also finished up with perfect conference records and will enter their league tournaments as No. 1 seeds. The Scorpions collected 571 points and the Cougars garnered 552 points. No. 4 Lee (Tenn.) and No. 5 Embry-Riddle (Fla.) maintained hold on their poll positions with 513 and 494 points, respectively, as the top five went unchanged from a week ago.

Only slight movements occurred within the poll with No. 10 Vanguard (Calif.) making the biggest jump, climbing three spots this week. The Lions defeated then-No. 9 Fresno Pacific (Calif.) on Nov. 5 to complete GSAC play in a third-place tie with the Sunbirds. Overall, seven Top-25 squads improved their rankings from a week ago as five of those teams jumped one spot. No. 12 Southern Oregon is up two slots after a second-place finish in the Cascade Collegiate Conference regular-season standings.

Freed-Hardeman (Tenn.) and La Sierra (Calif.) traded places as the Lady Lions make their first appearance in the Top 25 dating back to records as of 2000. Freed-Hardeman is set to face the TranSouth Athletic Conference's top seed in Bethel (Tenn.) in a quarterfinal matchup on Tuesday. Despite a six-match winning streak, the Golden Eagles fell just outside the rankings. While seven ranked teams gave ground in the poll, the largest drop was only two places.

The GSAC placed six members in the rankings for the eighth-consecutive week and again led all leagues. The GSAC is represented by Concordia, No. 6 Azusa Pacific (Calif.), Fresno Pacific, Vanguard, No. 13 Biola and No. 16 Point Loma Nazarene (Calif.). The Frontier Conference stands alone in second with three ranked squads: No. 7 Lewis-Clark State (Idaho), No. 9 Rocky Mountain (Mont.) and No. 23 Carroll (Mont.). Five conferences placed two schools in the poll.

The poll was voted upon by a panel of head coaches representing each of the conferences and independents.
