Women?s Cross Country Runner of the Week ? No. 3
By Chad Waller, Director of Communications and Sports Information

KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Hillary Holt of College of Idaho has been named the NAIA National Women's Cross Country Runner of the Week, the national office announced Wednesday. Holt was selected based on her performance from Sept. 17 - 23 and was chosen out of a pool of conference/independent runner of the week selections.

Holt, a junior from Boise, Idaho, took home medalist honors at the Runners Soul/Erik Anderson Cross Country Invitational in Spokane, Wash., on Sept. 22. She set the school record with a finish of 17:23 in the 5,000-meter race. Her time smashed the previous standard by 22 seconds. In a field of 150 runners mixed with NCAA Division I athletes, she won the event by 16 seconds over the 2011 national runner-up. She helped the fourth-ranked Lady Yotes to the team title.

Holt and teammate Greg Montgomery, who won the NAIA National Men's Cross Country Runner of the Week award, are the second College of Idaho teammates to sweep the weekly awards. The first were Austin Basterrechea and Travis Sharp, who accomplished the feat in the first NAIA men's outdoor track and field weekly award in 2011.
