2014 NAIA Women?s Cross Country Runner of the Week - No. 7

KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Lila Klopfenstein of College of Idaho has been named the NAIA Women's Cross Country National Runner of the Week, the national office announced Wednesday. Klopfenstein was chosen for her performance during the week of Oct. 13-19 and was selected out of a pool of conference and association of independent institutions award winners.

Klopfenstein, a sophomore from Meridian, Idaho, took eighth-overall in the 120-runner, Inland Empire Classic in Lewiston, Idaho, on Oct. 18. She finished the 5-kilometer race in a time of 17:10 – the fifth-fastest time in the 14th-ranked Yotes’ history at the 5K distance.

The eighth and final edition of the Women’s Cross Country Runner of the Week will be announced Oct. 29.

Next up for Klopfenstein and the College of Idaho is the Cascade Conference Championships on Nov. 8 in Portland, Ore.
