NAIA Women's Cross Country Runner of the Week - No. 5

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Aminat Olowora has been named the NAIA Women’s Cross Country Runner of the Week for the second time in so many weeks, the national office announced Wednesday. Olowora was selected for her performance on Oct. 1, and was selected out of a pool of Conference/Association of Independent Institutions award winners.

  • Ran a school-record time of 16:16.81-70 seconds faster than Oklahoma City's previous record-to win the Division II portion of the Chile Pepper Festival in Fayetteville, Ark. This is the second meet in-a-row Olowora has won.
  • Posted a mark that was just 6.98 seconds behind the Division I winner in the 5-kilometer race.
  • Olowora leads an Oklahoma City team that is currently ranked No. 8 in the NAIA. The Stars finished fourth in the Division II team standings at the Festival. They will next compete at the NAIA Mid-States Classic on Oct. 22 in Winfield, Kan.
