NAIA Women's Cross Country Runner of the Week - No. 6

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Emily Kearney of SCAD Atlanta (Ga.) has been named the NAIA Women’s Cross Country Runner of the Week, the national office announced Wednesday. Kearney was selected for her performance on Oct. 7, and was selected out of a pool of Conference/Association of Independent Institutions award winners.

  • On a course which saw heavy rain and tough conditions before the race, Kearney completed a 17:32 5-kilometer run to finish as the top individual in the Royal Invitational in Charlotte, N.C. on Oct. 7.
  • Out of 343 runners in all divisions, the freshman posted the best mark to win the invite, which included defeating runners from NCAA Division II and I teams.
  • Kearney remains undefeated on the season with four victories in as many races. SCAD Atlanta will next compete in the Sand Shark Invitational on Oct. 22 in Beaufort, S.C.
