KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- (Updated Bracket) (Opening Round Scoreboard) In the 2010 Men’s Soccer National Championship Opening Round, 14 of the 15 matches were contested. These winners, including Mobile (Ala.), advance to play in Orange Beach, Ala., at the National Championship final site from Nov. 29 - Dec. 4. The match between No. 2 Simon Fraser (B.C.) and Great Falls (Mont.) originally scheduled for today has been postponed due to inclement weather. Both teams will play tomorrow at 2 p.m. PST in Tukwila, Wash., at the Starfire Sports Complex.

The home field advantage did not hold true for the most part. Defending national champion Lindsey Wilson (Ky.) was one team that failed to protect its home turf. The Blue Raiders lost to Southern Poly State (Ga.), 2-0. The hosts went just 8-6 today. Since the Opening Round format began in 2008, the hosts have combined for a record of 29-11-4 all-time.

No. 4-seed Notre Dame (Ohio) posted the largest margin of victory with a 5-0 win over Davenport (Mich.). Also, four matches went into overtime and there were seven shutouts recorded.

No. 1 Rio Grande (Ohio) was tested against Bethel (Ind.) and went on to a 2-1 win. The score was identical when the RedStorm took down Bethel in the 2008 National Championship Opening Round. Rio Grande improves to 17-6-2 in their 10th-straight postseason.

Four schools remain undefeated: No. 3 Hastings (Neb.) (21-0), No. 5 Maine-Fort Kent (22-0), No. 4 Notre Dame (20-0) and Rio Grande (22-0).
