Meet the N.A.I.A.'s - Brad Huse

June 13, 2006

Brad Huse, Montana Tech of the University of Montana
Basketball
Graduated - 1989
Major - Engineering

Brad Huse has enjoyed an amazing run of success since leaving the engineering profession to become a coach in 1991.  He served eight years as head coach at Jamestown College (N.D.), compiling a 184-60 record.  During his tenure, the Jimmies enjoyed six consecutive 20+ win seasons (1998-2004) and went 60-3 in conference play.  His teams advanced to four NAIA national tournaments.  His 2003-04 squad became the first team in NAIA Division II Men's Basketball history to have a unanimous number-one ranking the entire regular-season.

In addition to his role at Jamestown, Huse has coaching stints as an assistant at Montana Tech (1991-94), Montana State University (1994-96) and University of Montana (2004-06).  Huse now returns to Montana State as the head men's basketball coach.

Huse contributes much of his coaching success to his tenure at Jamestown and plans to use the same formula at MSU that took Jamestown to the top of the NAIA - solid fundamentals, a frenetic defense, strong rebounding and work together as a team.

A 1989 graduate of Montana Tech, Huse was a three-time All-Conference player.  The backbone of the Tech team, he was named an honorable mention all-American his senior year.  Upon graduation, Huse received his master's degree in education from Montana State.

He and his wife, Kelly (Sauvageau), have three sons, Adam, Drew, and Ty.
