NAIA and Commerce Bank Agree to Partnership Extension
KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) announced that it has agreed to an extension with Commerce Bank (NASDAQ: CBSH) to continue to provide the ‘Official Prepaid Expense Card’ of the NAIA. The agreement will run through July 31, 2025.
The Commerce Bank Prepaid Expense Card is a reloadable, Visa® prepaid card that provides complete spending control and an easier way for student-athletes, coaches and staff to access funds as needed. It eliminates cash, checks and reimbursements and allows the user to load and unload funds as needed.
“Commerce Bank is pleased to continue our relationship with the NAIA and we commend the Association, and its leadership team, for overcoming many serious challenges in recent years,” said Don Becker, Commerce Bank VP Business Prepaid Card Partnerships. “We take pride in the fact that we’ve helped NAIA athletic programs improve payment efficiencies and we look forward to working with more NAIA members in the future.”
Schools that utilize the cards will have several control options at their fingertips, including the ability to limit cash access, where the card can be used, and to set spending limits and schedule loads. Any sized school, any student-athlete or coach can use the cards, depending on the needs of the school.
Commerce Bank will also provide NAIA Institutions a discount as a national partner.
“We want to thank Commerce Bank on their continued support of the NAIA and our member schools,” said NAIA President and CEO, Jim Carr. “Making sound financial decisions and having the tools to make that process easier are vital for our institutions. With Commerce Bank, we have a partner that is committed to that vision.”
Commerce Bank and its Prepaid Expense Card program have been the NAIA’s official provider since 2016. For more information, go to commercebank.com/expensecard.
