Pitcher & Player of the Week ? No. 4

KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Daniel Jones of Brewton-Parker (Ga.) has been named the NAIA National Baseball Pitcher of the Week and Adam McCormick of Tabor (Kan.) has been tabbed National Baseball Player of the Week, the national office announced on Tuesday. Jones and McCormick were selected based on their performances from March 26 - April 1 and were chosen out of a poll of conference/independent/unaffiliated groupings.
Jones, a native of Daytona, Fla., notched his third win in his last four appearances with a no-hit, complete-game win against Shoter (Ga.) on March 30. He ended the contest with seven strikeouts in seven innings, while walking none. With the performance, Jones ends the month of March with a 1.88 earned run average, allowing only eight runs in 38.1 innings. He also struck out 25 and walked only nine during the stretch.
On the season, Jones leads the team with 64.0 innings pitched and is second on the squad with a 2.67 earned run average (min. 10 innings). He owns a 5-3 record in 10 appearances.
McCormick, a native of Pittsburg, Kan., hit .577 with five doubles, three home runs, eight runs scored and 16 RBIs to lead Tabor to a 7-1 record for the week, including a four-game sweep of Kansas Collegiate Athletic Conference foe McPherson (Kan.). The senior went 4-for-4 with two doubles, a home run and a season-high six RBIs in the Blue Jays 21-2 win against the Bulldogs on March 26. In game two of Tabor's four-game series with Saint Mary (Kan.), McCormick used a 3-for-3 effort - including a double and home run - to drive in four of Tabor's five runs en route to the 5-3 win against the Spires.
On the year, McCormick ranks second nationally with a .519 batting average, while also ranking amongst the top-25 in the NAIA in slugging percentage (.840) and runs batted in per game (1.18). He owns hits in 23-of-30 games this season, including 12 multi-hit performances.
