Castellow Strikes Out 13 in Shutout, Earns NAIA Pitcher of the Week
KANSAS CITY, Mo.- Junior left-hander Peyton Castellow (Georgia Gwinnett) collected the NAIA Pitcher of the Week award after a 13-strikeout, three-hit performance on the mound last week.
Behind 13 strikeouts and just three hits allowed across seven shutout innings, Castellow powered the team to a 4-0 victory over Point (Ga.) last Saturday, securing his first win of the season on the mound.
This spring, the Thurmont, Maryland, native owns a 3.00 ERA with 20 strikeouts and has limited opposing hitters to a .267 batting average.
The Grizzlies have opened the season at 11-0 and will hit the road Feb. 20-21 for a series at Blue Mountain Christian (Miss.).
