Alcantara-Diaz’s 19 RBIs, 11 Hits Secure NAIA Baseball Player of the Week Honor
KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Christopher Alcantara-Diaz from Wilberforce (Ohio) has been deemed the NAIA Baseball Player of the Week after powering an explosive offensive stretch across six games.
Alcantara-Diaz delivered a blistering performance at the plate, finishing the week slashing .647/.708/1.353 while reaching base in every game. He recorded 11 hits in 17 at-bats and drove in 19 runs, while also scoring 10 times and adding three stolen bases.
His biggest impact came in a three-game series sweep of Oakwood (Ala.), where he went 10-for-11 with three doubles, three home runs, and 15 RBIs. In the series finale alone, he went 4-for-4 with two doubles, a home run, and seven RBIs.
Across the week, he totaled three doubles, three home runs, 19 RBIs, and drew five walks.
Wilberforce returns to action at 1 p.m. on Wednesday against Kentucky State before closing the regular season with a three-game home HBCUAC series against Rust (Miss.).
