Claerhout Earns NAIA Baseball Player of the Week Honors After Five-Home Run Week
KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Carter Claerhout of Bellevue (Neb.) has been named NAIA Baseball Player of the Week after an explosive performance at the plate, blasting five home runs and leading the Bruins to a 5-0 record last week.
He homered in all five games and finished with five home runs, 10 RBIs, and 10 runs scored, while adding two doubles.
The senior batted .700 (14-for-20) with a .727 on-base percentage and a 1.550 slugging percentage across five games. Claerhout recorded a hit in every contest, extending his hitting streak to eight games, while posting a pair of multi-extra-base hits games.
The Bruins are currently riding a 15-game win streak, with a 27-3 record on the season, and an 8-0 mark in conference play.
They return to action on March 31 against York (Neb.) at 3 p.m. CT.
