Former NAIA All-American Hofer Signs with UIF's Sioux Falls Storm

Jan. 29, 2007

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. - The Sioux Falls Storm of United Indoor Football (UIF) is pleased to announce the signing wide receiver Tommy Hofer for the 2007 season. Hofer starred at Dakota State University in Madison, SD.

Hofer, a Lennox, SD native, put together an impressive college career for the Trojans.  Hofer finished his career with 256 receptions, 3,456 yards, and 26 touchdowns.  Hofer owns the DSU career record in all three categories.

The 5'10 185 lb. receiver was named a National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) First-Team All-American after his senior campaign in 2005.  During 2005, Hofer hauled in 70 receptions and set a DSU record for most receiving yards in a season with 1,097. Hofer also holds the DSU record for most receptions in a season with 86, which he set in 2003.

Hofer spent part of 2006 as a member of the Toronto Argonauts of the Canadian Football League, where he made the opening day roster before being released last June.

Storm President Colin Steen says, "Tommy is a huge addition to our football team.  We expect to see him making a lot of plays for us and with his local ties, I'm sure it won't hurt our attendance."

Season tickets for the 2007 season are on sale now.  Call the Storm office at 332-4225 to reserve your seats for 'The Greatest Show in Town" as the Storm look for three championships in a row in 2007.
