GRAND ISLAND, Neb.  – This April will mark the fifth year in-a-row that the best NAIA football players in the country will participate in the Victory Sports Network Senior Classic announced today (Dec. 30).

The Victory Sports Network's Senior Classic will pit 120 former NAIA football players against one another in a showcase of talent and character. The game kicks off on April 30 at 1:00 p.m. CST from Salina Stadium in Salina, Kan.

"This is one of the great things about small college athletics," said Jason Dannelly of VSN, the game's founder. "It's a chance to play football one last time, on a national stage in front of friends, family and a ton of fans."

This year will also mark the second year the game will be held in Salina, Kan. Kansas Wesleyan and the city of Salina will again host this year's event hoping to capitalize on the city's passion for small college athletics and football.

"We are real excited to have the game," said Dave Dallas, head football coach of Kansas Wesleyan, "This is a great opportunity for Kansas Wesleyan and the city of Salina to have the game in a city with a real small college flavor."

Last year's Senior Classic attracted over 1,000 people in attendance, and 120 student-athlete participants. Additionally the Nationals downed the Americans, 34-21 to take the lead in the overall series at 3-1. In 2007 the Americans edged the Nationals, 16-6 while in 2008 the Nationals won, 29-21.  In 2009 the Nationals won 24-10.

"Having this game hosted by an NAIA school will help to bring even more exposure than previous years," said Dannelly. "We are extremely thankful for Dave Dallas of Kansas Wesleyan approaching us to move the game. I think having an NAIA school hosting this game is certainly the way to go."

The three previous Senior Classic gridiron tilts led to several players signed to NFL, CFL, AFL, AF2 and other professional contracts. The Scouting Bureau, headed by Steve Brown, as well as numerous NFL, CFL and Arena Football league teams will be attending the game in search of the next great unknown star.
