INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. - (Box Score) The No. 2-ranked Marian (Ind.) football team earned its 19th straight regular season victory and improved to 4-0 on the season after a 31-20 victory over 15th-ranked Grand View (Iowa) in the NAIA Game of the Week at St.Vincent Health Field on Saturday afternoon.

The Knights improved to 6-0 all-time against Grand View and have not lost a regular season game since they fell at Saint Xavier University on Oct. 9, 2010.

Sophomore running back Tevin Lake led the Knights after he rushed the ball a career-high 30 times for 126 yards and two touchdowns. Senior quarterback Adam Wiese finished 23-for-33 for 294 passing yards and two touchdowns as the Knights used 28 first half points to earn the victory. Wiese hit nine different receivers on the day with freshman Anthony Jones Jr. catching five passes for 63 yards.

The Knights opened the scoring when Wiese hit Lake with an 18-yard touchdown pass to cap a four-play, 51-yard drive in the first quarter. Lake gave MU a 14-0 lead with a one-yard touchdown run early in the second quarter to cap a marathon 14-play, 69-yard drive that spanned the last 6:31 of the first quarter and took a total of 7:17 to complete.

The Vikings responded quickly as they took to the air. Just 15 seconds after the Lake touchdown, GVU quarterback Derek Fulton hit Brady Roland with a 75-yard touchdown pass to make it 14-7 with 13:59 to play in the half.

MU responded accordingly as senior fullback Brad Naffziger caught an eight-yard touchdown pass from Wiese just 46 seconds after the GVU score to make it 21-7. A 39-yard kickoff return by Jones Jr. set the Knights up in good field position and it only took two plays to push the advantage back to two scores.

The Vikings cut it back to a one touchdown advantage when Derek Nightser picked up a fumble and scampered 60 yards to make the score 21-14 with 5:12 to go in the half.

But, the Knights answered with just 40 seconds remaining when Lake capped another long drive with a two-yard touchdown run to make it 28-14 heading into the interval. The Knights chewed up 4:27 off the second quarter clock on the nine-play, 77-yard drive.

MU amassed 337 yards of total offense in the first half as they rushed for 117 and Wiese passed for 220 in the first 30 minutes. The story of the second half was the defense on both sides of the ball.

The Knights struck first in the half when senior Michael Josifovski hit a 32-yard field goal to cap a 10-play, 52-yard drive that took 5:08 off the clock and gave MU a 31-14 lead. Fulton hit Roland again to cap a 10-play, 62-yard drive for GVU to make it 31-20, but that was as close as it would get.

The Vikings' defense held the Knights to just 112 yards of total offense in the second half, while their offense amassed 153 of their 272 yards of total offense in the second 30 minutes.

Fulton finished 13-for-22 for 184 passing yards and had two touchdowns in leading the GVU offense. The MU defense held GVU to just 34 yards rushing on 24 carries in earning the win.

Senior Nathan Toon led the Knights' defense with eight total tackles (six solo), while senior Dan Brunke finished with seven stops and a tackle for loss. Junior Seth Vondersaar added six tackles and a sack, while senior Stephen Rogers picked off a late pass to close out the win for the Knights.

Dudley Bickham led GVU's defense with 18 tackles (seven solo) and two tackles for loss as well as an interception. Derek Nightser finished with six solo stops, a sack and tackle for loss for GVU.
