KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Casey Clarke of Campbellsville (Ky.) has been named the NAIA National Football Special Teams Player of the Week, John Dostal of Hastings (Neb.) has been tabbed National Football Offensive Player of the Week and Marc Porras of Kansas Wesleyan received National Football Defensive Player of the Week honors, the national office announced Monday. Clarke, Dostal and Porras were chosen for their performances during the week of Sept. 24 - 30 and were selected out of a poll of conference and independent award winners. Porras is the second-straight player - third overall - from the Kansas Collegiate Athletic Conference to claim the defensive weekly honor.

Clarke, a senior place-kicker from London, England, scored all 15 points for Campbellsville in the Tigers' 15-14 victory at Kentucky Christian on Sept. 29. Clarke, who is in his first season playing American football, broke two program records and tied two others in leading the Campbellsville to its first victory of the season. His career-long 52-yard field goal with 4:17 remaining in the third quarter tied a 22-year-old school record set by Steve Tow in 1990. Clarke also tied the record for most field goals attempted (5), while breaking the mark for most field goals made (5) and points scored by a kicker (15). His five field goals are the fifth-most made in an NAIA football game, one shy of tying the NAIA record. In addition to the 52-yarder, Clarke connected on 20, 34, 37 and 41 yard attempts.

On the season, Clarke has made 6-of-8 field goals and is a perfect 7-for-7 on extra points. He ranks sixth nationally in field goals made (6).

Dostal, a senior quarterback from Omaha, Neb., passed for a career-high 314 yards and four touchdowns in Hastings' 40-30 victory over then-No. 22 Dakota Wesleyan (S.D.) on Sept. 29. He completed 19-of-32 passes to eight different receivers and had no interceptions. Additionally, Dostal rushed for 80 yards on 10 attempts en route to 394 yards of total offense - 75.3 percent of the Broncos total offensive output.

Dostal boasts a top 10 national ranking in total offensive yards per game (323.0), passing yards per game (270.3) and pass efficiency (158.9).

Porras, a defensive back from Stockton, Calif., keyed a Kansas Wesleyan defense that forced four turnovers in the Coyotes' 28-24 win against Friends (Kan.) last Saturday. The junior compiled nine tackles (five solo), but it was his three interceptions that were the keys to victory. His last interception came in the end zone late in the fourth quarter, stalling the Falcons potential game-winning drive and allowing Kansas Wesleyan to run out the remainder of the clock. Porras' other two picks came in the first and third quarters.

For the year, Porras ranks fourth on the team with 37 tackles (20 solo) and is second in the NAIA in total interceptions with five.
