2024 NAIA Football Championship Series Quarterfinal Round Review
KANSAS CITY, Mo. – [FCS Schedule] During the Quarterfinal of the 2024 NAIA Football Championship Series saw two road teams Benedictine (Kan.) and Morningside (Iowa) earn upsets, while No. 1 Keiser (Fla.) and No. 2 Grand View (Iowa) earned dominant wins.

#1 Keiser (Fla.) def. #10 Georgetown (Ky.), 38-22
- The reigning national champions proved why they were ranked No. 1 all season with a decisive win in the quarterfinals of the FCS
- Shea Spencer threw for 239 yards and four touchdowns while also adding 45 yards on the ground
- The Seahawks were led in receiving by D'Andre Golden with 69 yards and Andrew Burnette with 95 yards rushing
- In the loss, Georgetown had Luke Oliver net a game high 76 yards in the air while Darius Neal ran 15 times for 69 yards
- Keiser (Fla.) controlled the ball for 39:37 of the 60 minute game
#2 Grand View (Iowa) def. #11 Northwestern (Iowa), 17-0
- Jackson Waring had two rushing touchdowns, 47 total yards on the ground, and 154 through the air
- In the loss, Colby Duncan contributed 88 rushing yards and 96 passing yards
- Tate Stine-Smith recorded a game high 83 receiving yards on five catches for the Vikings
- The defensive battle was highlighted by seven tackles for a loss by Northwestern and six by Grand View; the Vikings added five pass breakups and one fumble recovery
- Grand View is back into the semifinals of the FCS after missing out in 2023
#9 Benedictine (Kan.) def. #3 Indiana Wesleyan, 20-9
- This is the furthest Benedictine has gone in the FCS since they lost in the championship game in 2018
- Defensively, the Ravens broke up five passes, recorded two tackles for loss, and limited the Wildcats to 5-of-15 on third down plays
- It was a total team effort as Jackson Dooley had 193 yards passing, the team combined for 65 yards on the ground, and Harry Balke made both of his kicks
- Four turnovers for IWU, three interceptions and one fumble, gave the Ravens the runway for the upset
- Ryan Whitwell rushed for a game high 102 yards and Isaac Smith caught 98 of Kyle Antoine's 211 yards passin
#6 Morningside (Iowa) def. #4 Montana Western, 31-24
- Despite starting out down 24-10 and throwing two early interceptions, the Mustangs rallied for the upset on the road
- Zack Chevalier tossed four touchdowns on 347 yards with Drew Sellon catching 182 of them and Zach Norton adding 120
- In the loss, Eli Norse and Dylan Shipley combined for 188 yards and a score as QB Michael Palandri went for 368 yards passing
- The special teams side of the game was nearly flawless as they combined to go 8-for-9 as Tommy Fitzsimmons was 3-for-3 on extra points, Trevor Paulsen nail a 39 yard field goal for the Mustangs
- Morningside rode a stout defense for the victory behind four sacks, seven tackles for a loss, two pass breakups, and one fumble recovery
