Fehlhafer Anchors Concordia (Neb.) Defense, Earning Player of the Week after 27-22 Win Over Dakota Wesleyan
KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Concordia (Neb.) defensive lineman Carson Fehlhafer was a nuisance for the offense, Saturday, anchoring the Bulldogs in a 27-22 win over Dakota Wesleyan (S.D.) to earn NAIA Defensive Player of the Week recognition, Sept. 15.
Fehlhafer piled up 13 tackles, including seven tackles for loss and four sacks. He also blocked a pair of kicks - a field goal and a PAT - in addition to three quarterback hurries.
On the year, the senior from Utica, Neb., has 5.5 sacks and nine tackles for loss, leading the Great Plains Athletic Conference.
Saturday, the now two-time NAIA Defensive Player of the Week honoree was part of a Bulldog defense that limited Dakota Wesleyan to fewer than 400 total yards.
Ranked 23rd in the NAIA Coaches' Poll, Concordia is off this week, back in action Sept. 27 at Waldorf (Iowa). NAIA Football Players of the Week are announced Monday afternoons at NAIA.org.
