Scoop-and-Score, 99-Yard INT Return Highlight Defensive Player of the Week Accolades for Georgetown's Wills-Jackson
KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Isaiah Wills-Jackson turned in a pair of defensive touchdowns Saturday for Georgetown (Ky.), helping the Tigers to a homecoming win over Cumberland (Tenn.), and Monday (Oct. 20), he was awarded NAIA Defensive Player of the Week.
Already up 13-0 three minutes into the second quarter, Wills-Jackson recovered a Cumberland fumble and went 18 yards for the score to make it 20-0.
His interception return was what ultimately deflated the Phoenix, though, late in the game. Cumberland had the ball in the red zone, down 27-13 with less than 2:00 to play, when Wills-Jackson picked Jake Parker's pass at the 1-yard line and went 99, cementing the game for the Tigers, who went on to win 34-13.
The Tigers have a week off before back-to-back road games, beginning Nov. 1 at No. 25 Bethel (Tenn.).
NAIA Football Players of the Week are announced Monday afternoons at NAIA.org.
