OSKALOOSA, Iowa - Destynd Loring ran for 192 yards and four touchdowns, the catalyst that advanced William Penn (Iowa) in the 2025 NAIA Football Championship Series with a 38-9 win over Texas Wesleyan at Statesmen Community Stadium in Oskaloosa, Iowa.

William Penn (11-1) will learn its FCS Second Round opponent Saturday night.

The Statesmen scored on their first drive, as Loring broke free for 25 yards and a touchdown to cap an 11-play, 75-yard drive that took the first 5:26 off the first-quarter clock, and six minutes later, Jeremiah Dennard picked a pass deep in Texas Wesleyan territory, trotting into the end zone to give the Statesmen a two-score lead.

A 25-yard Freddy Joya field goal cut into the William Penn lead, three points for Texas Wesleyan that made it 14-3, but on the Rams' next drive, Brian Weatherspoon intercepted Cole Francis in Texas Wesleyan territory. One play later, Loring was back in the end zone, this time from 31 yards to make it 21-3.

Both teams scored third-quarter touchdowns, as William Penn got Loring in the end zone for a third time, and Mark Benjamin scored for Texas Wesleyan, but that's as close as the Rams would get. Aiden Gibbons kicked a fourth-quarter field goal, and Loring scored his fourth touchdown of the day to cement it for the Statesmen.

Texas Wesleyan closes its season 7-5.
