2019 NAIA Football Players of the Week - Week One

KANSAS CITY, MO. - Connor Kaegi of Ottawa (Kan.) has been named the NAIA National Football Offensive Player of the Week and Sage DeLong of Eastern Oregon has been named the NAIA National Football Defensive Player of the Week and Chase Van Wyck of Eastern Oregon has been named the NAIA National Football Special Teams Player of the Week, the National office announced Monday.

  • Blocked first quarter punt that led to a Mountaineer field goal while later blocking a fourth quarter field goal by SOU that would have potentially tied the game
  • Wyck had four tackles including a defensive sack
Defensive Player of the Week
Sage DeLong, Eastern Oregon
Jr., DE, Vale, Ore.
  • Recorded eight tackles (7 solo)
  • Five tackles for loss including three sacks
  • DeLong's tackle for loss added up to -26 yards
  • Helped hold Southern Oregon under 300 total yards of offensive
Offensive Player of the Week

  • 33-for-47 (70.2%) through the air
  • Career high 432 yards & three touchdowns
  • Led Braves in rushing yards with 33 yards and one touchdown
