KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Jazz Henderson of Paul Quinn (Texas) has been selected as the NAIA Men's Basketball Division I Player of the Week for the week of Jan. 7-13.
Henderson, a 6-4 senior guard from Dallas, Texas, averaged 31.0 points, 4.5 rebounds and 2.0 assists in two wins for the Tigers last week. Henderson was pivotal last week helping the 6-9 Tigers defeat then-No. 17 Wiley (Texas) 112-104. He went for a season-high 40 points on 11-of-23 shooting, including 15-of-17 from the charity stripe. In the 105-97 win at Texas College, who was receiving votes in the national poll, Henderson finished with 22 points and five rebounds knocking down four treys. His double-digit point effort was his fifth straight performance. He has now gone for 20-plus points 10 different times this year.
