KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Taj Anderson of LSU Shreveport (La.) secured NAIA Men's Basketball Offensive Player of the Week honors. Jamal Gibson of Southern University at New Orleans (La.) was named the NAIA Men's Basketball Defensive Player of the Week. The duo was selected based on their performances from January 28 - February 2 and were chosen from a pool of conference/Continental Athletic Conference (Independents)/unaffiliated group nominees. 

Players of the Week are announced on Tuesdays on naia.org, Instagram, and X throughout the regular season.

NAIA Men's Basketball Offensive Player of the Week

Taj Anderson, LSU Shreveport (La.) - SR - Guard

• Anderson had himself a week on the court, putting up a staggering 53 points, the most by any player in a single game this season.
• In that same game, he shot 76% from the floor, and 66.7% beyond the arc, and was a perfect 11-of-11 at the charity stripe.
• Over the Pilots' three games last week, Anderson had a hot hand, shooting a collective 63% from the field, 57.1% from deep, and 95% at the free throw line.

NAIA Men's Basketball Defensive Player of the Week

Jamal Gibson, Southern University at New Orleans (La.) - SO - Forward

• For the second time this season, Gibson earned defensive player of the week honors for the Knights.
• He was dominant on the defensive boards once again for SUNO, grabbing 15 against the Virgin Islands and 12 against Tougaloo (Miss.).
• Gibson, also protected the rim well with 11 total blocks across two games.
