KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Makeem Roberts of William Carey (Miss.) recorded double-digit blocks over three games last week to earn the Gared Performance Sports Systems NAIA Men's Basketball Defensive Player of the Week award.

Roberts got it done for the Crusaders over three games, protecting the paint and the rim. With a total of 21 boards and 15 of them on the defensive end of the floor alone, he also earned a dozen steals with nearly as many blocks at 10 over his 109 minutes played.

He was also critical on the offensive end of the court, dishing out 18 assists while scoring 40 points.

Makeem and the Crusaders are back in action on Feb. 5 when they welcome Thomas (Ga.) to Hattiesburg for a Southern State matchup. Tip-off is set for 7:30 p.m.
