NAIA Division II Men?s Basketball Player of the Week - No. 2

KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Patrick Hopkins of Indiana Wesleyan has been tabbed the NAIA National Division II Men's Basketball Player of the Week, the national office announced Tuesday. Hopkins was selected based on his performances from Jan. 7 - 13 and was chosen out of a pool of conference/independent/unaffiliated group winners.

Hopkins, a 6-foot-7 forward from Kokomo, Ind., posted averages of 21 points, 13.7 rebounds, 2.3 assists per game, while shooting 57.1 percent from the floor in three games last week. On Jan. 8 at Grace (Ind.), Hopkins scored 22 points and pulled down a season-best 17 rebounds in a 94-76 victory. Two days later, Hopkins helped the Wildcats to a 58-54 victory over Taylor (Ind.). He recorded his second-straight double-double by scoring 24 points and collecting 13 rebounds. Hopkins capped off the week on Jan. 12 with his third double-double in a 81-65 victory over Bethel (Ind.). He scored 17 points on 8-for-13 (61.5 percent) shooting and grabbed 11 rebounds.

Currently in Division II ranks, Hopkins is fourth in rebounds (9.95 rpg) and 22nd in field goal percentage (.562).
