KANSAS CITY, Mo. – JB Eksteen of Lee (Tenn.) has been named the first NAIA National Men’s Golfer of the Week for the 2012 spring season, the national office announced Wednesday. Eksteen was selected based on his performances from March 12 – 18 and was chosen out of a pool of conference/independent/unaffiliated group golfer of the week selections.

Eksteen dominated a field of 85 golfers at the Lee Spring Invitational held March 12 – 13 in Cleveland, Tenn. The junior native of Paarl, South Africa, carded a 67-67–134 at the two day event, earning him medalist honors for the then fifth-ranked Flames. Eksteen’s 10-under-par placed him nine strokes in front of the second-place finisher and helped Lee to a second-place (306-287–593) team finish behind Tennessee Wesleyan.

The next Men’s Golfer of the Week will be announced on March 28.
