Day Two Concludes with Final Qualifier Cut Made

Silvis, Ill. – Following a rainy Round One on Tuesday, the sun was shining for a bright Day Two in Quad Cities at TPC Deere Run. After a full day of play, the championship tournament qualifiers were cut down to the top 17 teams and top 40 individuals, including ties, leading into the final rounds of play in the next two days.

Final qualifiers will tee off on Thursday at 7:30 a.m. Central.

 

Highlights

  • Trevor Bassett of Dalton State (Ga.) shot a hole-in-one on Hole 16
  • Logan Smith of William Woods (Mo.) tied the NAIA record for the lowest score in 36 holes with his Round Two score of 65, combining with his Day One score of 69, for 134.
  • Two of six individual qualifiers made the individual player cut – Kane Ybarra of Our Lady of the Lake (Tx.) and Alberto Uriach of Webber International (Fla.)
  • Four-way first-place tie and seven-way fifth-place ties were both broken after Round Two.
  • Texas Wesleyan improved its score on the day to a combined 579 to move to first place from third after Day One.
  • Two-way tie for second place between Keiser (Fla.) and Point (Ga.) - 582
  • Three-way tie for eighth place between Houston-Victoria (Tx.), Kansas Wesleyan, Oklahoma City - 600
  • Three-way tie for twelfth place between Campbellsville (Ky.), Southwestern Christian (Okla.), Coastal Georgia – 605
