Round One of Championship Play is Complete
Silvis, Ill. – Due to in-climate weather and a slow pace of play, day one of the 2021 NAIA Men’s Golf National Championship concluded around sunset at 8:15 p.m. CT. Day two is set to begin early on Wednesday morning with a 7:30 a.m. CT start on Hole 10 and a 7:50 a.m. CT start on Hole 1. The day will conclude with a cut down to 17 teams and 40 individuals, including ties.
The day concluded with a four-way tie for first place with a Round One score of 69 which was two under par. Corey Matthey of Morningside (Iowa), Logan Smith of William Woods (Mo.), Ruan Pretorius of Point (Ga.), and Javier Neira Garcia of Keiser (Fla.). The four led the day’s competition despite consistent rain showers throughout the day.

- Point (Ga.) entered the week and finished Day One in first place, resulting in a score of 290.
- Taylor (Ind.) entered the week receiving votes (RV) but concluded Day One with a third-place finish and score of 295.
