2024-25 NAIA Men's Golf Coaches' Top 25 - No. 5 (April 17)
KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Keiser (Fla.) took over the top spot in the NAIA Men’s Golf Coaches’ Top 25, moving to No. 1 by a one-point margin over Oklahoma City. OCU picked up two more first-place votes than Keiser, but the Seahawks finished a point ahead of the Stars in the fifth rating of the regular-season to break last time’s first-place tie.
No. 3 and No. 4 remained Dalton State (Ga.) and Lindsey Wilson (Ky.), as Dalton State claimed the remaining two first-place votes to stay 14 points ahead of LWC. OUAZ (Ariz.) climbed to No. 5 after spending last week at No. 9, and there were no new teams to the top 10, although Texas Wesleyan, Friends (Kan.), MidAmerica Nazarene (Kan.), British Columbia, and Wayland Baptist (Texas) shuffled to round out the top 10.
Two teams entered the Top 25, this week, as Bellevue (Neb.) entered at No. 20, and Science and Arts (Okla.) appeared at No. 23. The final NAIA Men’s Golf Coaches’ Top 25 of the 2024-25 regular season is slated for release Friday, May 9.
Rating Methodology
- The rating was voted upon by a panel of head coaches representing each NAIA Men’s Golf conference, and each conference is represented by one rater.
- The Top 25 is determined by a points system based on how each rater ranks the best teams. A team receives 30 points for each first-place vote, 29 for second-place, etc.
- The highest and lowest ranking for each team (a non-rating is considered a low rating) is removed, and the team’s ranking will be recalculated with an additional point added to each team for every ballot (including discounted ballots) that the team appears on.
- Teams that receive only one point in the ballot are not considered receiving votes.
