Seahawk Sophomore Sokhan-Sanj Paints Leaderboard Red at Music City Classic

KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Keiser (Fla.) sophomore Iver Sokhan-Sanj made 18 birdies and a pair of eagles at last week's Music City Classic, as the top-ranked Seahawks edged third-ranked Webber International (Fla.), Keiser's fifth win of the year and Sokhan-Sanj's third individual title in 2025-26.

April 22, he was named the final NAIA Men's Golfer of the Week for the 2025-26 season.

Sokhan-Sanj was sensational in his final regular-season appearance in 2025-26, as the second-year Seahawk set the school record for low round by shooting 63 in the second round of the tournament, posting his own career-low (201) in a field of 21 teams that included 12 represented in the most recent NAIA Men's Golf Coaches' Top 25.

The Lorenskog, Norway native was 4-under par on par 3s and 3-under on par 4s, but he locked up the tournament title by scoring on par 5s, where he was 8-under par, including both eagles.

Sokhan-Sanj opened with a first-round 69, 3-under par, but he started in recovery mode after a double bogey on his first hole of the tournament. That double was erased by birdies at No. 4 and No. 5, and he made his first eagle at the par-5 eighth to get to 2-under par. He survived another bogey at No. 11, erasing it with an eagle three on No. 18. Sokhan-Sanj trailed teammate Jack Peters through the first 18 holes by two strokes.

One of the most consistent rounds in NAIA men's golf history would follow, beginning with four front-nine birdies and five more on the back, including three-straight in a stretch of five holes with four red circles. His best hole of the week was the eighth, making birdie in the second and third rounds after the first-round eagle. Sokhan-Sanj jumped out to a three-stroke lead through 36 holes.

He secured the win on Tuesday, posting birdies on three of his first four holes, at No. 2, No. 3, and No. 4, ultimately making seven birdies in the round to balance four bogeys for another 3-under par 69.

Sokhan-Sanj and the top-ranked Seahawks have qualified for the 2026 NAIA Men's Golf National Championship, May 12-15 at TPC Deere Run, in Silvis, Ill., by winning their fifth league title in The Sun Conference earlier this week.
