Preview of the 2022 NAIA Men's Lacrosse Invitational
KANSAS CITY, Mo. - [SCHEDULE | BRACKET | PROGRAM] The 2022 NAIA Men’s Lacrosse Championship will open up play with four quarterfinal games on Wednesday, May 11 in Pensacola, Fla.
Highlights
- Men's lacrosse is in its sixth year as an invitational sport in the NAIA.
- This is the first year that men’s lacrosse has been hosted in Pensacola, Fla.
- There are three teams that qualified as automatic qualifiers and five teams that qualified as at-large qualifiers.
- Reinhardt (Ga.) is the only team that has made an appearance at all of the invitationals including 2022.
- Indiana Tech and Keiser (Fla.) are making their fifth appearance in the national invitational.
- Benedictine (Kan.) and Cumberlands (Ky.) will be making their third appearance in the 2022 national invitational.
- St. Ambrose (Iowa) is making its second appearance in the 2022 field.
- Reinhardt (Ga.) is the only team in the 2021 field that has won an invitational title. The Eagles won a title in 2017, 2018, 2019 and 2021.

- Indiana Tech – The Warriors enter the tournament as No. 1 in the final regular-season poll and are the only team in the Top 10 that remains undefeated. The team has stayed in the Top 5 in all but one poll this season. Indiana Tech leads the nation in goals (256), man-down goals (5), assists (176), shots (801), shots on goal (513), ground balls (704) and caused turnovers 282.
- Reinhardt (Ga.) – The Eagles enter the tournament as No. 2 in the final regular-season poll after opening the season at No. 1 and holding that rank until dropping to six in the third regular-season poll. They rebounded to No. 2 where they would remain for the rest of the season. The team has been handed only one loss during the season at the hands of Keiser (Fla.) who is also the team they will face in the quarterfinals. Reinhardt ranks first in the nation in goals per game (16.73) and shots on goal percentage (69%).
- St. Ambrose (Iowa) – The Fighting Bees have lost only two games this season to the No. 1 team Indiana Tech and No. 8 Benedictine (Kan.) in the Kansas Collegiate Athletic Conference (KCAC) tournament. The team opened up the season at No. 7 and worked its way up to No. 1 in the third regular-season poll before landing back at No. 3 before entering the tournament. SAU is tied for 1st in the nation with Indiana Tech in man-down goals (5) and leads the nation in save percentage (64.2%).

- Andrew Ryan, Indiana Tech – Ranks first in the nation in points (81) and second in shots (174) and shots on goal (105).
- Mitch Haggart, Aquinas (Mich.) – Ranks first in the nation in shots (257) and shots on goal (126).
