Elvis Syroka of Madonna (Mich.) was a Menace in the Faceoff Circle Last Week, Earning Defensive Player of the Week Honors

KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Elvis Syroka of Madonna (Mich.) was nearly perfect at the faceoff spot over two games last week. The freshman specialist performed his way to an 88 faceoff win percentage, while he helped the Crusaders hold opponents to single-digit scoring in WHAC action.

He opened his week with a strong showing in the circle, winning 13-of-15 total faceoffs he took as MU secured the 20-goal win against Michigan-Dearborn. Elvis also danced around the field, securing nine ground balls in that game. Three days later, he was ready to dance again, this time against Aquinas (Mich.), where he went 15-of-17 from the faceoff circle and picked up five ground balls.

Syroka was dominant from the circle, compiling a total of 28 faceoff wins last week for an 88% faceoff win percentage. He added 14 total ground balls to his stats sheet and one assist, picking up the 10th NAIA Men's Lacrosse Defensive Player of the Week honors for April 14.

Elvis and Co. are back in action tomorrow when they welcome the Lawrence Tech (Mich.) Blue Devils to town. Opening faceoff is set for 4 p.m. ET from the MU Soccer and Lacrosse Field.
