Nathan Foskey of Cumberlands (Ky.) was the Key to the Patriots Win on the Road, Earning Him Defensive Player of the Week Honors
KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Nathan Foskey of the Cumberlands (Ky.) had a stellar week between the sticks. Foskey etched his name into the Patriots' record book as he gathered national defensive player of the week honors.
One road trip north is all the senior goalkeeper needed as he wrote his name into the UC men's lacrosse record book in his home state. The Powell, Ohio native, secured 18 saves in an 18-10 win over Mount Vernon Nazarene (Ohio).
His 18 save performance is headed to the record book of Cumberlands as the sixth most saves in a single game. What's even more impressive is that 11 of these saves came in the second half alone to fend off MVNU's late-game push.
Foskey and the Pat's are back in action on Thursday, March 12, in Waleska, Ga., against No. 4 Reinhardt (Ga.). Opening faceoff is set for 3 p.m.
