Kenny Bohney of the WPU Statesmen Picks up Offensive Player of the Week Honors After Strong Week

KANSAS CITY, Mo. - The Moorhead, Minn. native, Kenny Bohney of William Penn (Iowa) earns offensive player of the week honors after a strong week that nearly had the Statesmen go 2-0 on the week.

Bohney was ready for the top 10 road test down in the Sunshine State last week. With seven of the team's 13 total goals, then assisting on three more, he was a critical part of the team's offensive scheme against No. 8 Webber International (Fla.). He sent out 15 total shots, with nine of them ending up on frame. Bohney also picked up five ground balls and caused one turnover.

The next day, he kept the same storyline. His five goals and two assists were part of half of WPU's total goals in the game. He was locked on target more in the 14-11 win against (RV) Tennessee Wesleyan, putting 87.5% of his shots on frame compared to just a day before, when he put 60% of his shots on the cage.

Overall, he was a key offensive player for the Statesmen, scoring 12 goals and assisting on 5 more for 17 total points. He added eight ground balls, one caused turnover, and finished the week with a 69.6 shot on goal percentage (16-of-23).
