Aquinas (Mich.) Standout TJ Murphy's 10 Goals Good for NAIA Offensive Player of the Week
KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Aquinas (Mich.) junior TJ Murphy scored 10 goals and added four assists last week, including six goals in a 19-8 win over Taylor (Ind.) to earn NAIA Offensive Player of the Week, March 24.
Murphy's 14 points led to a 1-1 week for the Saints, who began the week with a heartbreaker at Madonna (Mich.), falling to the top-ranked Crusaders 14-11. Murphy had four goals and an assist in that game.
Aquinas rebounded to beat No. 8 Taylor by 11, getting a six-goal, three-assist lift from Murphy, who added four ground balls on the week.
The Saints have a two-game week at home in the WHAC, beginning Wednesday against Lawrence Tech (Mich.) and again Saturday against Siena Heights (Mich.).
