KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Jack McGowan of Oklahoma Wesleyan has been tabbed National Men's Soccer Offensive Player of the Week and Joe Shulberg of Oklahoma City has been named the NAIA National Men's Soccer Defensive Player of the Week, the national office announced Tuesday. McGowan and Shulberg, who are the final weekly award winners for the 2012 season, were selected based on their performances from Oct. 29 - Nov. 4 and were chosen out of a pool of conference/independent/unaffiliated groupings.

McGowan, a 5-foot-10 freshman forward from Liverpool, England, scored two goals, three assists (seven points) in Oklahoma Wesleyan's only game this week. Shulberg, a 6-foot-3 junior goalkeeper from Huntington, England, was key in a 1-1 tie to then-No. 3 Science & Arts (Okla.) on Nov. 3. Shulberg made saves in the 17th, 23rd and 57th minutes to keep the match scoreless. He also made three saves in the final 10 minutes of regulation and three more in overtime to keep the game tied at one. Shulberg continued to record pivotal saves during penalty kicks as he stopped two shots to lead Oklahoma City to the Sooner Athletic Conference semifinals.
