Ramos Anchors Park (Mo.) Defense with Pair of Shutouts for Defensive Player of the Week Honors
KANSAS CITY, MO.- Park (Mo.) goalkeeper Felipe Ramos turned in a stellar week between the posts, recording back-to-back shutouts to earn NAIA Defensive Player of the Week honors.
The senior's top-notch performance included a six-save effort in a 0-0 draw against No. 3 MidAmerica Nazarene, frustrating the offense of a top-ranked team in the nation. Earlier in the week, Park grabbed a 1-0 victory over Culver-Stockton (Mo.), as Ramos kept the Pirates in control during the defensive battle.
Across the season, Ramos has allowed just four goals in seven matches, boasting a 0.65 goals-against average and an .800 save percentage while collecting 16 total saves.
His steady play in goal has been a key factor in Park’s early success, as they head into the week with a 4-1-2 record.
